In
this study brain glioma
cells were injected into the brains of rats. Starting on the 5th day
after inoculation, the rats were exposed to 915 MHz microwaves, either
as continuous-wave or as pulse-modulated. The radiation was given for
7 hours per day, 5 days per week for 2-3 weeks. When the animal started
to develop neurological signs of tumour growth, it was sacrificed and
the brain examined.
All
animals developed tumours. There was no difference in tumour size between
the exposed animals and the controls.
Details
of the SAR are not given. It is difficult to interpret a study where
all animals, exposed and controls, develop brain tumours of significant
size.
