Ten healthy volunteers were exposed to a GSM phone for 15 minutes. The peak power of the phone was 2 W. Auditory brainstem responses were assessed by latency potentials on the right (exposed) side as well as the left. The V latency on the exposed side increased by 0.207 msec compared to its baseline. This increase was said to be significant. On the left side there was an increase of 0.029 msec.

The authors hypothesize that the observed changes were due to "local thermal effects and ionic membrane shifts". In this brief communication, there was no mention of SAR values. No controls were used. Details of the study methodology and the results are scanty.
